It is proposed that ICDANet's Telecentre be equipped with state of the art ICT equipment.
New computer systems, Projector, Photocopier, scanners, digital camera's for the local's
to document and share stories. This center will serve as Train the trainer facility. Its
located in heart of a semi urban town of Kakamega. Will serve also as a communication
centre since its located near a provincial hospital and provincial administrative centre.
ICDANet accepts the following as gifts in kind:
Hardware: A minimum of 5 or more computers of the same make and model i.e.
Pentium 4 or better with at least 512 MB RAM and 20 GB hard drive.
Software licenses (discs with certificate of authenticity) for
Windows 2000, XP, Vista and/or MS Office.
Computer and network supplies, wireless splitters antennas etc
Your time, would like to volunteer on any of our project i.e
refurbishing of computers? Or would like to volunteer three month at a time in
Kenya and setup our community ICT centre? We would like to talk to you.
Financial support is always welcomed.
$30 donation prepares a complete computer setup for shipping which
includes a Pentium computer with operating system and software, monitor, keyboard,
mouse, and network connection to a hub for printing or file sharing, and modems for
email and internet.
$300 donation prepares a 10-computer lab for shipment which includes 10 computers
(same model) each with 128 MB RAM, at least 5Gig HD, Ethernet network card and,
installed MS Windows98 with license (Certificate of Authenticity) -OR- GNU/Linux
OS installed OpenOffice application suite, monitors, keyboards, mice with mouse pads,
modems, network hubs and cables, printers and ribbons, power cords and outlet strips,
software manuals, discs, setup, wiring, and networking instructions, information on
e-waste dangers and disposal, carpal tunnel syndrome and student-centered learning
with technology.
New computers if you can, guarantees five years of use
